Welcome Message

Blessings and welcome to our 2020-2021 dance school year.  We are so excited for what this year will bring. We believe that every student will grow and learn not just technical, but also spirit led movements. Thank you for choosing Dance Box Miami as your second home. With open arms and lots of love we welcome you to the DBM family.

Dance Family Rules

We adhere to this mentality as we live and as we dance. With our focus on Him as our strength, we push forward and work both hard & diligently. Using kindness, love, and compassion as our weapons, we expect only excellence from our students.

Dance Box School Year

Our school year runs from August 3rd - June 30th. 

Monthly Tuition & Initial Fees

Monthly tuition is due on the first week of every month. Failure to pay on due date will result in a late fee of $10.00. No refunds or exchanges will be given for tardiness or absence. 


The initial registration fee is $35.00 per student and $55.00 per family for dancers.

Parent Pickup

Parent/Guardian is responsible for students pickup after their class time. Parents are welcome to wait at our lobby during students class time to ensure they're there for pickup. Dance Box Miami is not responsible for any student at our location 10 minutes after their class time is over. 

Tardiness Policy

All students should be prepared to enter class with a minimum of 5 minutes prior to class. If late, students may be asked to not participate in class. Please understand that the beginning of class is essential as it prepares the body & mind for the rest of the class. Door is locked exactly 5 minutes after class start time and it is teachers decision if to allow student in or not.

Makeup Classes

Attendance is important. If for whatever reason student is unable to make it to a class, they will be given a makeup class. Makeup classes must be taken within a 30 day period after missed class date. If class is not taken within that time period, class will be lost and no makeup or refund will be given.

Student Dismissal/ School Disclaimer

Students will be let out and sent to our lobby upon ending their class. All students must be picked up within 10 minutes of dismissal. 


If student is being rude, insubordinate, or disrespectful, teacher holds the right to ask them to step out of the remainder of the class with no makeup or refund given. Respect is expected from all who take classes.


Dance is an activity that requires the heart, mind, and body. It is possible that student may get hurt while in a class. Dance Box Miami holds no responsibility or liability for student if hurt. We will call parent/guardian to inform them of the situation/for pickup, and provide ice packs, bandaids if needed. We will do our best to help ease the situation.

Dance Attire to Class

All students must arrive with the correct attire. No clothing made of jean material or sandals allowed.

  • Ballet: Pink tights, black leotard, and pink ballet shoes.
  • Hip-Hop: Loose fitting/sports wear, sneakers/boots.
  • Jazz/Contemporary/STJL/Liturgical: Leggings/dance shorts, Sports bra, t shirt/tank top. Shoes should be either dance pirouettes or jazz boots. No clothing should restrict movement.
  • Zumba/Bootcamp: Workout attire

Hair Requirnments

All classes require hair up and out of the face. 

*Ballet*: All students are expected to come with hair up in a slick back bun with bobby pins. Our front desk will always have bobby pins and hair ties for sale.

Recital Information

Recital will be held on June 20th, 2020. All performers will pay a participation fee of $50.00 per student. If siblings, a $10.00 discount per student will be applied. This fee is due on April 1st . Final day to pay for participation in recital will be April 9th. This does not include costumes or tickets. Pre-Sale tickets will go on sale as of May 23rd for $20.00. Tickets bought at the gate will be $30.00.

A full dress rehearsal will be held Saturday June 13th and will run from 9:00am-3:00pm. It is essential to be on time & bring snacks/water bottles.

Costumes

Costume fitting will begin on April 13th and will be ordered by months end, no exceptions. Costumes will be purchase by the school after receiving payment for outfit from students. Outfits will be held at school until event date, afterwards they are for the students to keep.

DBM Crew

Every year, we aim to have stage crew members that help us with everything backstage. This includes, but is not limited to the moving of costumes, building of any sets, and being available for all recital dates.
